Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | On Call as needed

Pay: 29.87 to 40.00 per hour (depending on experience) plus profit sharing

Are you an experienced environmental or wastewater professional who takes pride in protecting natural resources and keeping systems running at peak performance? We are an executive search firm partnering with our awesome client to identify a candidate for this critical role.

This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of a critical stormwater treatment system at an active manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the site’s stormwater treatment system - ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations while making a real impact on environmental stewardship.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate and maintain the stormwater treatment system in compliance with NPDES permit requirements and environmental standards
• Monitor system performance (pumps, filtration, chemical feed systems, tanks, control panels) and ensure optimal operation
• Conduct stormwater sampling, inspections, and visual monitoring per regulatory requirements
• Maintain and implement the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), including inspections and corrective actions
• Collect, preserve, and ship samples to certified labs while maintaining proper chain of custody
• Keep accurate, audit-ready records for sampling, inspections, and reporting
• Troubleshoot system issues, respond to alarms, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance
• Support hazardous waste handling and disposal as needed
• Assist with regulatory inspections and audits (DEQ, EPA, etc.)
• Coordinate system maintenance, repairs, and improvements with internal teams and vendors
• Partner with operations teams to ensure best management practices (BMPs) are followed
• Stay ready during storm events, adjusting treatment processes based on flow and conditions

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3–8+ years of experience in stormwater, wastewater, environmental compliance, or a related field
• Certification in wastewater or stormwater treatment (preferred)
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with sampling, inspections, and compliance tracking

Key Skills for Success:

• Strong understanding of stormwater or wastewater treatment systems
• Familiarity with NPDES permits and SWPPP requirements
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills (pumps, treatment systems, etc.)
• Ability to interpret data and respond to system performance indicators
• Highly organized with strong documentation and reporting skills
• Self-starter who can work independently and make sound decisions
• Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams

About the Location

Sheridan is located 13 miles southwest of McMinnville, halfway between the Oregon Coast and the Portland metro area. The manufacturing site spans 37 acres and supports a tight-knit team of roughly 40 employees dedicated to producing high quality utility poles.
