MicroGrid Networks is driving the transition to decentralized energy infrastructure. We design, build, own and operate distributed energy systems and public EV Chargers in New York City. MGN is entering a major growth phase with 10 new projects which broke ground in December and expanding our leadership team to ensure quick execution and scalable growth. The plan is to build many more such facilities in the years to come.

Position Overview

The  Vice President of Construction will lead the full spectrum of construction activities for MicroGrid Networks’ rapidly growing project portfolio. This leader will be responsible for establishing scalable construction processes, building out a high-performing team, and ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of projects.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic vision, operational rigor, and hands-on field experience, capable of scaling a construction organization while remaining deeply engaged with project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale all construction operations as the company ramps up to deliver ~10 concurrent projects.
  • Establish standardized procedures for scheduling, budgeting, procurement, safety, and quality to support growth and repeatability.
  • Oversee project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning—ensuring adherence to design, schedule, and budget.
  • Build and mentor a construction management team, including project managers, superintendents, and site leaders.
  • Develop and manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to secure reliable, cost-effective capacity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Development, Engineering, and Operations to ensure constructibility, cost efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
  • Drive accountability for safety, quality, and performance across all active sites.
  • Implement systems and tools for project tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement as the organization scales.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in construction management, including at least 5 years leading multi-site projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of scaling a construction program or organization through rapid growth.
  • Experience in large high-voltage electrical installations, distributed energy resources, solar, and battery storage preferred.
  • Financial and contractual acumen, including experience with GC/EPC contracts, project controls, and cost management systems.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental best practices.
  • Willingness to travel to active project sites as required.

Why Join MicroGrid Networks

  • Play a key leadership role in shaping and scaling a company at the forefront of the energy transition.
  • Lead a construction organization building critical clean energy infrastructure
  • Competitive executive compensation, performance incentives, and comprehensive benefits.

Salary: $260,000–$350,000 (based on experience)
