Urbandale, IA.

Job Title: Billing Processor (Accounting Support) /Staff Accountant

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $24 - $25/hour

Work Arrangement: Onsite daily during training; after training, onsite approximately 6 days per month

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Processor to provide accounting and administrative support within a fast-paced operations environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple systems, and excellent communication skills when interacting with both internal teams and external contacts.

You will work under general supervision and contribute to essential accounting processes such as billing, payment application, disbursements, and reporting . This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience while contributing as a key member of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process billing, disbursements, and payment applications
• Research and resolve check and payment discrepancies
• Maintain and analyze account and insured records
• Prepare and review accounting reports , including billing, disbursement, statements, and variance analysis
• Perform trend and variance analysis on key accounts and reports
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions
• Respond professionally to internal and external email communications
• Assist in developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Access Database
• Internal Processing Systems
• Workflow Management System

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• 1–3 years of relevant experience
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous finance or accounting experience
• Experience working with multiple systems or databases
• Strong team collaboration skills
