Position Overview
We are a US-based organization seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support our Development Team and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products in an agile environment. This role is responsible for driving Scrum execution, facilitating ceremonies, supporting sprint health, and removing impediments to enable consistent, predictable delivery.
The Scrum Master partners closely with cross-functional teams, technical leads, and Project Services leadership to promote Agile best practices, ensure adherence to Scrum methodology, and foster continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Project Services Manager and requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scrum Ceremonies & Iteration Management
• Schedule, facilitate, and own all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups (DSUs), Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
• Ensure Scrum ceremonies are productive, time-boxed, and aligned with Agile best practices.
• Facilitate Retrospectives, document action items, and track follow-through across sprints.
• Report and track team capacity to support accurate sprint planning and sustainable delivery.
2. Sprint Execution & Delivery Support
• Be accountable for sprint execution by actively tracking progress toward sprint goals and commitments.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies to internal stakeholders as appropriate.
• Proactively remove impediments and follow up with team members to maintain sprint momentum.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies when sprint delivery or commitments are at risk.
• Support deployment, release planning, and rollout coordination in collaboration with technical leads.
• Develop a strong understanding of the product and what the team is building in each iteration.
3. Agile Coaching & Tooling
• Promote proper use of Jira for sprint tracking, reporting, and Agile workflow management.
• Ensure adherence to Scrum principles and organizational Agile standards. • Coach team members on Scrum practices and continuous improvement.
• Identify and escalate individual or team performance concerns to appropriate supervisors in a timely and professional manner
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• 3–6+ years of experience in a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Demonstrated experience supporting software development teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
• Strong experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and supporting sprint execution.
• Proficient in Jira for sprint tracking, reporting, and workflow management.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred; SAFe Scrum Master or related Agile certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); SharePoint experience preferred.
