Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated National Sales Manager. This person will be responsible for growing new business channels and sales revenue for UMI Coatings through relationship building with technical managers, business owners and various key personnel. The focus will be on manufacturing, utility and industrial accounts and known applicators. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for conducting market analysis and sales forecasting, influencing brand awareness across the industry, driving engagement and growing revenues. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes sales strategies to increase market share. This includes but is not limited to creating and implementing a monthly sales action plan to engage and develop manufacturing and industrial leads, accurately forecasting monthly sales, and coordinating proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
  • Ensures results through implementing sales programs, providing weekly/monthly results assessments of sales activity, establishing personal contact and rapport with potential manufacturers/industrial accounts to increase closing odds, and developing equipment and material quotes.
  • Executes on sales objectives by engaging daily with HubSpot to further the sales cycle and secure new business, collaborating with manufacturing and industrial leadership to develop and implement sales strategies to improve closing ratios, collaborating with manufacturing and industrial leadership to establish and control budgets for travel, sales promotion, trade show expenses, and lead generation, and work with Manufacturing and Industrial Sales Director to plan, develop and implement ideas for lead generation and sales process improvements.
  • Engages with customers and potential customers by providing technical sales support to clients, offering solutions tailored to customer needs, developing methods to increase the number of qualified leads, and coordinating with manufacturing and industrial leadership and product development staff to validate application requirements to minimize field failures and potential false starts.
  • Tracks market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Computer programs and CRMs such as HubSpot, QuickBooks, Monday and Microsoft Office products
  • Effective leader, including the ability to develop and manage additional sales team members and identify key sectors where the sales team will focus core activities to drive sales. Having a history of developing and leading successful teams to meet or exceed key performance indicators leading to successful portfolio growth and expansion is critical in this role.
  • Results driven with a focus on executing and meeting sales goals, being cost effective and conscious, and having integrity in the position, making accurate and timely decisions.
  • Has the ability to meet and exceed expectations with customers and engage with them positively and consistently.
  • Experience managing customer concerns both promptly and courteously.
  • Operational excellence driven, focused on effective analytics, adhering to company standards and productive use of time.
  • Has an overall good work ethic and drive with focus on promptness, flexibility and attitude, self-motivation, enthusiasm, organization and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within the industrial coating or paint-related industry.
  • Proven experience managing a large sales territory with diverse client base and preferably has managed sales team.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to travel 30-50% of the time to meet with clients, and to attend industry events and trade shows.
